Off Network Remote Offices
Our Premise Server can be deployed in areas off-network to CoMedia. The unit maintains connectivity between the office it's installed in and one of four Texas based CoMedia Datacenters via inter-exchange carrier agreements between CoMedia and the remote office's local exchange carrier. Depending on the number of staff at the remote office, the public Internet in many cases will prove adequate, elminating the need for special access circuits to the remote office. In any case, local dial tone at the remote office can be terminated to Premise Server, then interfaced directly to the remote office's existing telephone system. If the remote office telephone system is equipped with PRI, T1, or E1 then Premise Server will accommodate Direct Inward Dial (DID) numbers.
Branch Offices Share Local Lines Across Network
Terminating the remote office's local dial tone to Premise Server enables users elsewhere on you voice network to place "local calls" in the calling area of the remote office. Calls received at the remote office can ring elsewhere in your voice network, or can first be answered at the remote office then transferred to any user on the network, including CoMedia's PhoneAlone Internet phone users.
Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
CoMedia's communications solution for your company will likely include data networking capability. For remote offices not served by our network we will include the option to extend voice services through the use of CoMedia's Premise Server. This server can be configured to include Virtual Private Networking between the remote office it's installed in and one of CoMedia's Datacenters, then privately routed to the customer's on-net location. Premise Server can also serve as a central VPN server for area telecommuters, or yet smaller satellite offices to the remote office, while simultaneously hosting their telephones. Stable, secure VPN cabability without the expense of added equipment.
