Subscribing to CoMedia NBX Hosting for your 3Com NBX telephone system eliminates the need for T1 or PRI or Analog Line cards to accomodate "old world" dial tone delivery, meaning lower total cost of ownership, fewer points of potential failure, and a significantly lower purchase price. But that's just for starters. Through CoMedia NBX Hosting, we deliver dial tone, Internet, and VPN on the same privately routed circuit, maintaining crystal clear voice quality. The savings are substantial, but the simplicity of design is genius.
Your decision to utilzie CoMedia NBX Hosting changes dial tone provisioning, and costs, for your 3Com NBX phone system dramatically. We leverage what the NBX does best; IP Telephony. Your existing telephone numbers are moved to CoMedia's underlying carrier facilities in Dalllas, Austin, San Antonio or Houston, then terminated to CoMedia's softswitch network. Inbound and outbound call traffic to and from your premise is through CoMedia's privately routed all IP network, never touching the public Internet. No need for a PRI card, or an Analog Line Card, or the card cage that houses them. Savings? About $6,000. And subsequent maintenance costs for your NBX are much lower, as there is less hardware to maintain.
Purchasing your 3Com NBX solution through CoMedia guarantees your organization more flexibility and choices in dial tone provisioning, telecommuting and branch office networking. CoMedia NBX Hosting leverages your investment in NBX. And, for starters, you'll invest a lot less. Your NBX, coupled with CoMedia NBX Hosting, doesn't require Analog Line or Digital Line Cards to place and receive calls. CoMedia NBX Hosting is offered in select Texas markets, and requires a circuit agreement with CoMedia IP Carrier services. Available in premise based, networked, or co-located configurations.
For ogranziations with multiple offices, 3Com's NBX telephone system provides sophisticated voice networking capabilities. Each office equipped with a NBX is configured as a stand alone system with dial tone supplied by a local provider. Typically, the dial tone facility is delivered utilzing a T1 or a PRI circuit, and a separate data circuit facility is required to support the NBX Virtual Tie Line traffic between the locations. 3Com's proprietary Virtual Tie Line software, enables station-to-station dialing and cetralized attendanting between the networked NBX's. A toll call by-pass feature enables a call placed by one NBX to be dialed by the NBX in the called area, essentially translating what would have been a long distance call to a local call.
The success of the NBX network is dependent upon the speed and quality of the data circuits between the networked locations. Often, this is a shared resource with the company's data network which will require VoIP Quality of Service (QOS) toggles to be programmed into data networking equipment. The number of simultaneous conversations between any two NBX locations, coupled with the data through-put requirements determines the bandwidth, or speed, required on the data circuit connecting the locations.
A NBX voice network between three offices would require each office to have it's own dial tone resource, and a data circuit connecting it to one of the other two locations.
Alternatively, CoMedia's NBX Hosting program can, in most cases, eliminate the need for separate dial tone and networking circuits for each office. If the NBX locations are in CoMedia's service area, a single DS1 circuit can provide dial tone, Internet, and networking for both voice and data for an office staffed with as many as seventy-five employees. The savings can be dramatic. But more importantly, responsibility for VoIP Quality of Service between the networked locations moves from the customer to CoMedia.
The larger benefit to multi-site customer's utilizing CoMedia's NBX Hosting is the ability to lift telephone numbers from the physical addresses they are associated with to our softswitched network instead. This eliminates the need for dial tone provisioning at individual offices. Big savings. It can also eliminate the need for individual telephone systems at each office. More savings. Less up-front investment, significantly lower going-forward costs in administration and maintenace and elimination of dial tone provisioning at remote locations makes CoMedia's NBX Hosting a must have for organizations with multiple branch offices.
The monetary benefits of a centralized 3Com NBX telephone system through CoMedia's NBX Hosting are significant, if not extreme. But the capabilities of the single system approach for multi-site organizations brings a level of enterprise-wide call control simply not available until now. Disaster recovery options, temporary branch closings, labor shortages, and inbound call load balancing are all more easily dealt with through this CoMedia service offering. Coupled with equipment redundancy options, and CoMedia's own "mirrored system" approach, the viability of a single phone system for multiple locations is now a practical alternative.
